PULLMAN, April 29, 2019 — METER Group, Inc., creators of AQUALAB water activity meters and SKALA enterprise software solutions, today announced the release of an Overpack module in SKALA for pet food manufacturers. The new module feature dashboards that allow customers to monitor and control their process in real time.

At PetFood Forum, Ohki says he will be showing how customers have used edge nodes and adapters to turn existing equipment into IoT devices to solve their overpack problems. “Before installing the overpack module, one customer had overpack accounting for $3.7 million in product waste and $1 million in film waste. They were able to use the module to achieve a 20% reduction in their overpack, for an annual savings of $939,000.”
