NorthWind Technical Services Named System Integrator of the Year

NorthWind Technical Services of Sabetha, Kansas has been named Control Engineering Magazine’s “2019 System Integrator of the Year”.

Each year, CFE Media, publisher of Control Engineering and Plant Engineering Magazines, holds a system integrator competition to recognize the best automation integrators in the business. A pool of judges consisting of industry experts and CFE Media personnel concentrate on 3 main areas of emphasis when deciding which companies to select as winners. The companies selected must demonstrate excellence in business skills and practices, technical competence, and customer satisfaction. Winners are also selected in three different categories based on company revenue as follows:  more than $20million in annual revenue, $10-$20 million in revenue and up to $10 million in revenue. NorthWind was selected as the national winner in the up to $10 million category. Other winners for 2019 included E-Technologies Group, West Chester Ohio and Polytron, Inc., Duluth Georgia.

“This year’s System Integrator of the Year award recipients, selected from an outstanding field of applicants, are great examples of how the system integrator is integral to the growth of manufacturing,” said Bob Vavra, CFE Media content manager. “These companies demonstrate how to deliver cutting-edge technology to manufacturers in a cost-effective manner while managing ongoing production needs.” Mr. Vavra continued “…the 2019 System Integrator of the Year recipients are leaders in their communities, and all three have a significant impact on their local economy. They are tremendous examples of the outstanding work system integrators do in advancing technology, efficiency and profitability in manufacturing, and we congratulate them for their achievement.”

For more than 55 years Control Engineering magazine has been the recognized global information leader for automation professionals.  They are recognized as the leader in the field due to our comprehensive coverage of automation technologies and applications.

When asked what the award means for NorthWind, President Mike Bosworth stated “We are very honored to receive this award. It’s a big deal for us and our entire staff was very excited to hear the news. NorthWind has grown an average of about 30% per year for the past five years, and that growth has come because of a lot of hard work by our team. This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our team members and the award is verification that we’re doing things right.”

Mike and Marlene Bosworth started NorthWind Technical Services in their rural home south of Sabetha in 1997 and built control panels in their garage.  An office and fabrication facility was constructed at the current location in the Sabetha Industrial Park in 2003.  Three additions to the original facility have been completed since then.  Now at more than 22,000 square feet in size and with a state of the art control panel shop, the company employs more than 40 engineers, technicians and other staff, serving customers all over the United States and the World.

Congratulations to the entire NorthWind Team on this prestigious award!
