No Fly ZoneĀ® Repellent Technology Approved for Distribution in Canada

Burlington is excited to announce that its No Fly Zone® technology is now approved for distribution in Canada expanding the availability of advanced insect protection for outdoor enthusiasts.

No Fly Zone is a permethrin-based technology that may help prevent the spread of insect borne diseases by repelling insects through apparel, uniforms or gear.  This technology is similar to the natural insect repellent found in certain chrysanthemum plants. It works as a contact repellent affecting the insect's nervous system causing it to fly away before a bite can occur.

“We are excited to bring our No Fly Zone technology to consumers in Canada,” says Nelson Bebo, Burlington’s vice president performance fabrics. “There are over 2500 identified species of mosquitoes that can carry and transmit diseases including Zika, Malaria, Yellow Fever, Dengue Fever, Typhus, Encephalitis and West Nile Virus.  No Fly Zone repellent technology turns treated garments and gear into long-lasting, effective and convenient insect protection.”

Burlington No Fly Zone fabrics offer distinct advantages over other repellent technologies because it is applied at the fabric level for durable and consistent protection. The No Fly Zone repellent technology can also be matrixed with other Burlington performance technologies to create unique, high-performance garments and gear for people who love the outdoors.”

Burlington No Fly Zone technology is also available for distribution in the United States, Europe, China and Australia and can be found on many types of woven and knit apparel, socks, uniforms, outdoor gear and military-applications.
