Tomasz Donocik’s Stellar Collection
could be seen as a continuation of his Electric Night collection.
If one could say that Electric Night was a collection founded on a Dystopian universe, Stellar is the day break in a Utopian universe.
It is fresh and coming into the light.
Donocik created A Pastel landscape through the use of opaque, semi opaque and translucent stones.
It is that playfulness of surfaces that makes the stellar collection daring and alive.
Opposing forces of soft contours versus faceted stones and high refractions versus mellow, soft refractions, create a dynamic unity.
The collection is grounded heavily on 1970’s fine artist Frank Stella.
His vivid geometric paintings are a springboard for Tomasz Donocik who infused the Stellar jewellery pieces with a unique combination of vibrant colours and contrasting shapes.
