MEDITECH Signs 16 More Hospitals in Q1 2017

MEDITECH signed five new healthcare organizations, representing 16 new hospitals, in the first quarter of 2017.

MEDITECH has seen strong growth in new customer bookings over the past several quarters, and the company signed five new healthcare organizations representing 16 more hospitals in Q1 2017.

The innovative, physician-designed Web Electronic Health Record represents a major pivot for MEDITECH and the industry as a whole. Since its launch, over 130 healthcare organizations have signed for this latest release.

"MEDITECH has 47 years of experience in the healthcare industry, and to this day we're deeply committed to delivering solutions that can help physicians deliver the highest quality care to their patients," said Helen Waters, executive vice president of Sales and Marketing.

"We’ve channeled our experience, passion, and knowledge into building this next-generation EHR. The architecture, user interface, and depth of clinical sophistication have been taken to entirely new levels, and as a result, we are seeing a lot of excitement across the market."

New and existing MEDITECH clients are citing the system’s design, usability, integration, mobility, and cost as major deciding factors during their EHR product and vendor evaluation.

Some of MEDITECH's recent Web EHR signings include:

Appalachian Regional Healthcare (Lexington, KY)

After launching a complete evaluation of EHR solutions, Appalachian Regional announced their new partnership with MEDITECH. The large, not-for-profit, integrated delivery network that includes 11 hospitals will begin their shift to MEDITECH's transformative, mobile Web EHR later this year.

"We are excited to partner with MEDITECH for an innovative Web EHR that fosters and supports sustainability," said President and CEO Joe Grossman. "With the Web EHR, our clinicians will have seamless integration across the continuum, improved productivity, and sophisticated tools to improve the quality and safety of care delivered to our communities."

Southlake Regional Health Centre and Stevenson Memorial Hospital (Ontario, Canada)

As members of the Shared Health Information Network Exchange (SHINE) initiative, Southlake Regional Health Centre and Stevenson Memorial Hospital announced a collaboration with Markham Stouffville Hospital to integrate their Health Information System (HIS) and accelerate the adoption of MEDITECH's 6.1 Web EHR across all three organizations.

"MEDITECH brings a wealth of experience that helps solidify all three organizations through the same EHR platform," said Stevenson President and CEO Jody Levac.

"This particular project allows us to address the disparities that occur in small to rural hospitals. Many of our patients can't access specialists or consultants. A single EHR across the three institutions will allow our patients to get access to high-quality care that could never be possible without this type of partnership."

Howard County Medical Center (St. Paul, NE)

A customer since 2011, the Critical Access Hospital will be upgrading to MEDITECH's Web EHR. Physicians at Howard County were impressed with the platform's ease of use and integration.

"We value our physicians' opinions, and they played a significant role in the decision to move forward with MEDITECH's Web EHR,” said CEO Arlan Johnson. “Having access to data from anywhere in the medical center and on any smart device is really what caught everyone's attention.”
