AGEXPORT launches its international brand, "Guatemala Beyond Expectations" at PMA Fresh Summit

In the biggest international fair expo of fresh products PMA Fresh Summit, Guatemalan Exporters Association (AGEXPORT)  made the opening of the new brand “Guatemala Beyond Expectations” with this new brand they try to find the attention of the international buyers and promote Guatemala as a big production and innovated country, the brand starts this October  20th and 21th 2017 at New Orleans, Lousianna during the expo PMA fresh summit, in this expo we have 80 Guatemalan expositors that present a big offer of veggies, fruits, spices and flowers.

 

New Orleans, October 20th 2017. Guatemala is celebrating 30 years of being part of the PMA  fresh summit expo. That way Guatemala is  the country number 4th  with fresh products, selling more than us 1,500 millions per year. For this celebration AGRITRADE from AGEXPOFRT is having a group of 80 Guatemalan expositors.

Guatemala is celebrating these 30 years in a special and commemorative way, we want to impact the 20 thousand visitors who arrive at PMA Fresh Summit under the institutional brand "Guatemala Beyond Expectations", and with which we seek to position ourselves in international events as an innovative Guatemala , competitive, and with potential and productive capacity. For the first time, Guatemala participates in a 100mt stand with a diversity of products and services ranging from an exportable supply of fresh vegetables and fruits to software development services for the agricultural sector.

The consecutive participation in the maximum North American event in PMA Fresh Summit, has marked the route for the growth of Guatemalan exports, because it has been the guide to develop new products, tendencies and packaging becoming the main suppliers of fresh products in the United States. Castro highlighted.

The national companies participating in the PMA Fresh Summit are: Frutico, Frutesa, Coprisa Agroexport, Aliar, AGEXPORT Pea Committee and AGEXPORT's Ornamental Plants Committee, Asocafé Pochuta, Logidoc, Maxim, IFAD, AIMAR group, APL, SIESA , Homeland.

For the first time, Guatemala leads PMA Fresh Summit: blueberry

 

The president of AGRITRADE of AGEXPORT indicated that one of the elements that stands out Guatemala is to export quality products, with high safety systems and international certifications. From that account for the first time they participate in PMA Fresh Summit with blueberry and a varied offer of flowers due to their potential.

During October 18-19, 2017, the delegation made visits to the Port of New Orleans and a tour of the container terminal and storage warehouses for the purpose of knowing the US logistics infrastructure.

In the United States there are 322 million consumers of fresh produce, from that account, we organized a tour of the main supermarkets as: Publix, Winn Dixie, Whole Foods Market, Sedano's Supermarkets, which gave us an overview of packaging trends that Americans have. Castro highlighted.
