NY NOW Summer 2017

Toolbox - traditional tools as sculptural jewelry by Whitebeam Studio

For that special photographer or painter, designer or architect, foodie or gardener. Builders, carpenters, metalworkers, glassmakers and archeologists - essential tools re-imagined as contemporary pendants.

Worn alone, some take on a sculptural quality. Others have a special meaning for the wearer. The fine two dimensional design encourages several to be worn together - choose two or three pendants and unleash all sides of your creativity! Or give a truly personal gift.

Whitebeam Studio’s creative director, Holly AllenCooper, is also a sculptor. The first Toolbox collection evolved from sketches made of her traditional metalwork tools. Jewelry tools from the Whitebeam studio added to the collection, then requests from chefs and fashion designers expanded the range. New pieces launching at NYNow cater for every specialist!

From multiple drawings, each design is refined into a two dimensional format and meticulously detailed to create the final piece. Handmade in matt and polished stainless steel, unisex pendants come on a stainless steel snake chain in a choice of lengths. Sets of two or three tools are packaged in a miniature metal toolbox, single pendants in a velour pouch. The Design Museum, London stocks a curated range that relates to the skills represented in their permanent collection.
