Cameron Automation Presents The Flooring Nester

For decades, the conventional way of creating a nested bundle or pack of flooring has been to have operators manually handle each piece multiple times. This method was inaccurate, time consuming, physically demanding, and tough to teach. Cameron Automation solved this problem in 2012 with the addition of the Flooring Nester to it's successful product line.

The Flooring Nester is a simple solution to a complex problem. Much of your flooring operation stays the same. Material is fed from an End Matcher to a grading belt. From there, each board is graded and travels down the grading belt until an operator pulls material off onto a waiting roller conveyor. This conveyor brings the material, end for end, to the Flooring Nester. From there, it is singulated and measured. Once measured, chains carry material to a particular location which is lifted off the chain using our innovative scooping method, allowing more boards to enter the machine. Once the machine has accumulated enough material to create a row, it will release boards in order towards the outfeed of the machine. Material will then gather, end for end, until a full row has been created. From there a full row falls down onto a waiting staging area which advances to accept the next row of material. When a full layer has been created, the material is stripped off onto a table which will lower to accept the next layer. Once a full bundle has been created, the machine raises the table and pushes a finished bundle off onto a waiting conveyor.

Designed to work as a single machine installation, or as part of a larger system of machines, the Cameron Flooring Nester can be found in over 20 shops around the country ranging in size from 20 employees to 250 employees.
