CeramiCode™ Marks a New Method of Identification
Traceability Through High Temperature or Corrosive Processes
Chillicothe, Ohio; April 25, 2017 – Ceramics have proven to be a durable material under many conditions, especially extreme heat. CeramiCodeTM is a method of identifying materials with alphanumeric data and 1D or 2D barcodes on ceramic tiles.
Manufacturers whose products undergo severe chemical or temperature conditions during production or during their intended use need to identify their products throughout their production. CeramiCodeTM tiles are durable in the most sever conditions and are reusable. The laser marked images are as durable as the tiles themselves, making CeramiCodeTM tiles ideal for the harshest thermal or chemical conditions. The tiles and the message survive temperatures in excess of 2500oF (1370oC).
Tiles are available in several sizes, and can include alphanumeric data and 1D or 2D barcodes. The tiles are available preprinted, usually with sequential serial numbers. Customers also have the option of laser marking the tiles at their own facility with a laser printer. InfoSight offers laser printers that are designed to mark the tiles.
Larger ceramic tiles come with a hole to thread wire through for attachment or for stud weld attachment. Smaller tiles can be cemented into a mold pocket. This allows the message to be protected below the surface of the product.
