Nielsen-Kellerman to Showcase Kestrel Elite and Other Favorite Products at 2016 Special Operations Conference

Manufacturer's complete ballistics calculator and weather meter in one is the perfect shooting solution.

Boothwyn, PA

Nielsen-Kellerman (NK), creators and manufacturers of Kestrel® Weather & Environmental Meters, have announced that they will be showcasing their most complete ballistics calculator to date, the Kestrel Elite Weather Meter with Applied Ballistics®, at the Kestrel booth (#1650) at the 2016 SOFIC in Tampa, FL, held May 24-26th.

The Kestrel Elite Weather Meter with Applied Ballistics takes the guesswork out of long-range shooting, even out to the transonic and subsonic flight range of the bullet. This next-generation integrated weather meter and ballistics solver provides the same trusted accuracy, reliability, and usability as the original Kestrel 4500 with Applied Ballistics, with several new features and options for the user.

The Kestrel Elite has a larger, higher-resolution and contrast display and improved font readability – one of the first differences users familiar with the Kestrel 4500 will notice. The unit also includes a built-in white/red backlight, extra-strong polycarbonate lens and AA battery operation and offers optional Kestrel LiNKTM iOS and Android wireless connectivity and app support. Like all Kestrel meters, the Kestrel Elite is drop-proof, dust-proof, waterproof and able to withstand harsh environments without damage – so it can accompany you to the range, hunt, match, deployment or engagement for years to come. A variety of carry pouch options makes it even easier to take your Kestrel meter with you.

"The long-standing relationship between Applied Ballistics and Kestrel has allowed us to continue to support the special operations communities with the most trusted environmental weather meters and ballistics software in one package,” stated Nielsen-Kellerman CEO, Alix James.  “While our customers were happy with the 4500 model, we have taken the opportunity to make it an even more powerful and reliable shooting partner. The addition of wireless communication makes gun profile and firmware management a snap, and offers the opportunity to employ the Kestrel as part of a more complete small arms fire control solution in the future. The Kestrel Elite is proof that we are constantly working to develop innovative and effective solutions for our warfighters. We are honored to continue to be a trusted source in providing these solutions to those who put themselves in harm’s way.”

Attendees to the show will also be able to test, and place orders for Kestrel Elite as well as other Kestrel models throughout the course of the show. For an in-depth preview, attendees can visit KestrelBallistics.com, the company’s new website which provides users with educational information, products and resources to enable success in long-range shooting. Visitors to the site will be able to purchase products beyond the Kestrel units – as it is designed as a one-stop shop for the best in shooting accessories.  Products available include: Nightforce® and Bushnell® scopes, Bushnell rangefinder, MagnetoSpeed® chronograph, and Full Spectrum SolutionsTM shooting mats.
