As a leader
in laser aiming solutions for the soldier, Steiner eOptics is celebrating the
10th year since the introduction of its revolutionary AN/PEQ-15A
(DBAL-A2®) to the US military. The AN/PEQ-15A
and its international equivalent, the DBAL-A2® was one of the first systems to
fully integrate a visible laser pointer, an infrared laser pointer, and an
infrared illuminator into one integrated, rugged package. More than 100,000 of these US-made systems
have been produced and delivered by Steiner eOptics, located in Monterey,
California.
The US
military and militaries from around the world select the AN/PEQ-15A and DBAL-A2®
for its simple user-interface, advanced capabilities and battlefield functionality. The AN/PEQ-15A and the DBAL-A2® are deemed rugged,
durable, and dependable in the most stringent military environments providing
confidence in the system by the soldiers who rely on it. By combining visible and infrared lasers with
an infrared illuminator into one solid body system, the AN/PEQ-15A and DBAL-A2®
are considered ‘required equipment’ for effective night operations.
Steiner
eOptics General Manager, Mark DiOrio stated “The AN/PEQ-15A and the DBAL-A2®
are used throughout the world. That
these systems remain the primary choice for operating in low-light and no-light
conditions is a testament to the confidence they bring to soldiers worldwide.”
