Newcon Optik Introduces the SEEKER Series of Mountable Laser Rangefinders

The SEEKER Series of mountable laser rangefinders has been introduced by Newcon Optik, a leading Canadian manufacturer and distributor of electro-optical devices. The series consists of the SEEKER S and SEEKER M — versatile, lightweight and MIL-SPEC laser rangefinder modules that are capable of being boresighted to practically any optical system, including spotting scopes, binoculars, and thermal imagers, as well as mounted onto rifles and integrated into complex fire control systems.  Both devices acquire accurate distance, azimuth and inclination target data out to several kilometres.

“Modularity and ease of integration were two critical elements in the design of the SEEKER series,” said Aaron Buckstein, Vice President of Sales & Business Development at Newcon Optik.  “We set out to enable our customers to get rapid, accurate target data and seamlessly process, analyze and use that information in their own systems.  We are excited about how easy we were able to make it for designers to integrate our communication protocols into their devices.”

The SEEKER Series can be operated in conjunction with Newcon Optik’s own AndroidTM battle space management application, or with any other AndroidTM based systems or proprietary fire control or mapping software suites to visualize and act on the acquired geospatial target data. The SEEKER M has a 3,000 m NATO target measurement range and utilizes a 1550 nm laser while the SEEKER S measures out to 2,000 m and utilizes a 905 nm laser.

“We have successfully tailored the SEEKER Series to satisfy and exceed the needs of professional users and consumers, packing high-performance features into rugged, compact and reliable devices,” Mr. Buckstein said. “The devices are suitable for a variety of applications, including tactical, law enforcement and Special Forces missions.”

The SEEKER Series builds on over 23 years of Newcon Optik’s experience in the research, design and manufacturing laser rangefinders. Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, Newcon Optik is a world leader in the electro-optics field and its products are relied upon by military, government and commercial customers in more than 70 countries.

The SEEKER M is on display at Newcon Optik’s booth together with the company’s other industry-leading optical equipment, including night vision, thermal imagers, laser rangefinders and other tactical optics.
