Klas Telecom is delighted to announce that the Voyager 8 (http://klastelecom.com/voyager-8/) tactical communications system has been awarded a 2016 Red Dot award (http://red-dot.de/pd/?lang=en) for product design. In tandem with Dolmen design firm, Klas focused on using innovative materials to deliver an ultra-compact and lightweight airline carry-on-sized version of a bulky 19″ rack frame. The company wanted to deploy to the field what could traditionally only be accomplished in a server room. The integrated power design is among one of Voyager 8’s features that make it unique in the tactical communications market. This is the second year in a row Klas Telecom products have won a Red Dot award. Last year, the VoyagerECK also won in the category for best product design.
