ITEX 2016

Twentieth Anniversary of the ELO Brand

Stuttgart, January 26, 2016 – This year, ELO Digital Office GmbH is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the launch of its enterprise content management (ECM) software under the brand name ELO (electronic Leitz folder). In 1996, the Stuttgart-based company's ELOoffice line provided end users and small businesses with archiving and document management functions. Just two years later, in 1998, the company released ELOprofessional, the client/server edition for SMEs, followed by ELOenterprise in 2004, the multi-tenant and platform-independent solution that covers the entire ECM spectrum and is designed specifically for use in corporate environments.

The electronic Leitz folder was originally designed as an entry-level solution for digital archiving and document management. The software quickly became immensely popular due to its intuitive user interface combined with the familiar principles of organization. "When Matthias Thiele, CTO, and I decided to launch ELO Digital Office GmbH as a spin-off from the Louis Leitz Group in 1998, we concentrated mainly on the paperless office. However, we soon turned the focus of our activities towards optimizing business processes," recalls Karl Heinz Mosbach, CEO of ELO Digital Office GmbH.

The company now has a fully developed product portfolio, and is continuously working on new modules to ensure that collaboration, integration, mobility, intelligent searches, and workflows are not just buzzwords. The dense network of Business Partners, who add the final touch by customizing the products to individual requirements, also plays a significant role to this end. The ELO product family helps companies to record, manage, use and share information efficiently – essential for digital transformation.

The company's continuous product innovations both reflect the market trends and provide the added value that customers want. Besides a large number of SMEs, the customer base includes major energy and utilities suppliers such as EnBW, N-ERGIE and Repower, and other major corporations such as Lufthansa, and the Bilfinger engineering and services group. Customers from the public sector, such as the City of Zurich, also put their trust in the solutions offered by the Stuttgart-based company. ELO Digital Office has long made its mark on the international arena and has branch offices in Europe, Asia, Australia, and North and South America.
