Redbarn Pet Products Celebrates 20 Years in Business

Redbarn Pet Products®, a leading manufacturer of premium food, treats, and chews for dogs and cats, is celebrating two decades of innovation in the natural pet products sector in 2016. The company is commemorating the event this year with a new tagline, logo and branding for its entire catalog of products. The new logo prominently features a barn as a nod to the company’s origins. Founded near a family farm in Montreal before moving to southern California in 1998, business partners Jeff Baikie and Howard Bloxam met as teammates on a youth hockey team.
The first product offered was premium rolled food. It was quickly followed by bully sticks, and in 2004 Redbarn purchased a factory in Paraguay to increase production capabilities. That same year, Redbarn released its Redbarn Naturals brand, which is made up of over 150 natural products (and growing every year). As Redbarn co-owner Jeff Baikie remarked, “As a business, if you are not growing, you're dying. We must continue to be a leader in innovation and product development. Today’s educated customer has exacting standards that challenge us to meet their expectations and strive to be better.” Each new product reflects Redbarn’s mission of providing quality, nutritious choices for consumers and their pets from chew-time to meal-time.
In 2010, Redbarn moved all United States production to Great Bend, Kansas, as sales and demand continued to increase. Three years later, Redbarn debuted new lines of grain-free products for cats. In 2015, Redbarn launched new wet food options for cats and dogs featuring added superfood functional ingredients that support pet health needs. Today, the Redbarn product line includes more than 200 products available at retailers across the country. Howard Bloxam, Redbarn co-owner reflected on the business’s growth, “We are proud that we have developed a company that provides jobs for over 400 people.
