SEMICON Europa 2016

Smoltek is a Red Herring Europe Top 100 winner!

Red Herring’s editorial team analysed several hundreds of European start-ups within tech and life science industry. The 260 most interesting companies got the chance to pitch and compete during the Red Herring European event that took place 12th - 13th of April in Amsterdam. After a thorough selection based among others on the market maturity, the international footprint, and the technological advantage, the judges established the Top 100 most promising firms in Europe and Smoltek was being one of them.

“This is another proof that we are on the right path. We can already measure the increasing interest for our technology from both business and investors. The possibilities are starting to get real”, says Anders Johansson, CEO of Smoltek.

More and more companies within nanotechnology, including Smoltek, are getting past the research stage to take one step closer to commercialization. The innovative research within the semiconductors area resulted in reducing the temperature of nanoparticles to under 390°C. This patented technology enables the industries to grow nanostructures on a substrate as for example microprocessors.

“The scaling of microprocessors has reached the brick wall. Using nanostructures instead of today’s technologies can multiply the capacity of electronic components, such as processors, in a revolutionary way”, says Anders Johansson, CEO of Smoltek.
