This session will examine innovative nursing care strategies for inflammatory skin damage resulting from incontinence. Participants will learn about: a new instrument for assessing IASD on light and dark skin; risk factors for IASD (including the role of skin pH) and how they can guide prevention strategies; absorbent products aimed to prevent IASD; and the important role of the continence care nurse.
