CALBRITE™ ACQUIRES UL / CUL LISTING FOR STAINLESS STEEL EMT

Calbrite™, the leading brand of stainless steel conduit, fittings and accessories, is pleased to announce its stainless steel EMT & EMT elbows are now UL / CUL listed.  This recent addition to UL / CUL 797A offers Calbrite’s customers a cost-effective alternative to stainless steel rigid conduit. While other conduit manufacturers provide EMT in galvanized steel, the new EMT & EMT elbows are the only products of its type manufactured from stainless steel, ensuring a long lifetime in corrosive, harsh environments, and wash-down applications, and effectively utilizing a lighter weight and pliability.

Stainless steel EMT conduit and fittings combine strength with ductility, resulting in an affordable, lightweight and easy-to-handle conduit assembly.  EMT can be installed indoors and outdoors in accordance with UL & NEC® requirements.

In addition to the ease of installation and maintenance, stainless steel is 100% recyclable. Stainless steel EMT enhances the appearance and the surface’s resistance to pitting & bacterial corrosion in CIP (clean-in-place) and SIP (sterilize-in-place) systems.

Calbrite's EMT conduit & fittings are manufactured and distributed from its Hammond, Indiana facility in type 304 & 316 stainless steel to meet any stringent sanitary environment, and as with standard steel EMT, it is manufactured without threads.  The non-threaded EMT offers simplified installations, as the conduit can be easily connected with the use of Calbrite’s NEMA 4X approved stainless steel compression connectors, which eliminates the need for threading on the jobsite.  Calbrite also offers stainless steel EMT set screw connectors for dry environments.  Both styles allow for quick and economical installation of conduit.

“We’re excited to offer the industry’s first stainless steel UL / CUL approved EMT, and add it to Calpipe’s extensive list of UL approved products,” said Matt Westerfield, Directorof Operations for Calbrite. “Our UL listed stainless steel EMT simplifies installation, as no special tools are required, and due to its lighter weight, provides our customers with additional cost savings in shipping, handling, & labor costs.”

Calbrite’s stainless EMT, EMT Elbows, & Fittings are currently in stock and available in standard 10’ lengths in 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/4”, 1-1/2" and 2" trade sizes. All Calbrite stainless conduits are polished with a standard “brite” finish to increase corrosion-resistance and aesthetic appeal.
