RETICARE IS THE FIRST COMPANY TO INTRODUCE ITS EYE PROTECTORS THAT ABSORB HIGH ENERGY BLUE LIGHT FROM DEVICE SCREENS AT NATIONAL SAFETY COUNCIL CONGRESS & EXPO 2017

Science-based Reticare eye protectors bring vision awareness and innovation to national safety conference

Tampa, Florida - July 19, 2017- Reticare, the only scientifically proven eye protector in the world that absorbs high-energy blue (LED) light proven to cause irreversible retina cell death, today announces its exhibition at the National Safety Council Congress & Expo on September 25-27, 2017.  Reticare’s presence marks the first time an eye health company is bringing workplace-related vision damage awareness to the safety-centered show.

“It’s time to shine a light on one of the most crucial, yet under-represented, dangers facing the modern workforce: eye health,” said Nilo Garcia, CEO of Reticare. “At a show devoted to developing new ways to keep workers safe, we will be showcasing our scientifically proven methods in prevention of retinal damage and combatting fatigue as a result of constant LED exposure emitted from device screens.”

A recent study found that the LED light emitted from modern technology has the potential to cause serious, long-term vision damage. Conducted by the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), the experiment found a 23 percent increase in retina cell death among lab rats when exposed to tablet screens that are currently sold in the market over a three-month period.  However, under the similar conditions, when Reticare eye protectors were placed on the screens, there was no sign of damage.

As the study suggests, the modern workforce’s constant use of LED devices is increasing the risk of macular degeneration, the leading cause of blindness in the world today. The blue light emitted from computer screens, phones, tablets and other devices also has a wide array of physical effects on the human body, even beyond vision damage.

“It’s important for employers and employees alike to know the physical effects of being exposed to LED lights at work. Apart from long-term impairment, blue light is causing workers daily discomfort including eyestrain, headaches, trouble sleeping, blurry vision and fatigue,” continues Garcia. “Offices and workspaces implementing preventative measures, like Reticare, will see an increase in employee productivity, quality of work, performance, morale, and general wellbeing. You never realize the physical consequences of staring at device screens and how much your eyes are suffering until you start protecting them.  We are aiming to bring this realization to the entire modern workforce.”

Reticare eye protectors are available for phones, tablets, monitors and laptops; and eyeglasses are available for distance viewing (i.e. television). The company is exhibiting at booth 3128 at the National Safety Council Congress and Expo 2017, and all vendors are welcome to stop by or schedule a meeting by emailing the contact below.
