New reversible drills set high standard of performance

Chicago Pneumatic has launched its first reversible drill range for industrial markets, which is expected to set a new high standard in terms of performance and price. The CP1114R drill is ideal for various applications in metal-working and foundries, and industrial maintenance including tapping, reaming, honing, drilling and mixing.

The next generation drills have exceptional durability, and can run for 800 hours before maintenance. As a result, they provide a long-service life enabling users to reduce their maintenance schedule and associated costs significantly.

The drills feature high quality Jacobs industrial chucks for accurate drilling. The motor is designed well in line with the chuck and drill bit so the tool is precise and gives low level run out (lower than 0.10 mm), the value of which is measured at only 25mm from the chuck, allowing perfectly aligned drilling and tapping.

There are four models in the range which deliver speeds from 500 rpm up to 4000 rpm for drilling different materials and hole sizes. The drills are powerful and efficient, delivering 0.54 HP (400 W), and include a triple full caged planetary gear for durable speed reduction and torque transmission, as well as double front bearing for minimized runout and durability. As such, they are robust and durable, providing excellent performance yet with a lightweight aluminum body.

The drills provide the high level of ergonomics that users have come to expect from Chicago Pneumatic tools. The range features Chicago Pneumatic’s Ergo Wing, which means it is comfortable to use, and the operator’s wrist and tool are aligned for best force transmission. Versatile with an easy-to-operate forward and reverse switch, and durable trigger, the drills are also safe to use as they include a robust side handle on 500 rpm and 900 rpm versions to preserve operators’ wrists from torque effects.

“The reversible drill is a welcome addition to our proven industrial drills portfolio, designed to give excellent performance in maintenance and production applications,” says Joël Draelants, Global Business Development Manager Industrial at Chicago Pneumatic Tools. “Customers familiar with Chicago Pneumatic’s existing range of drills, will now be able to experience the same high levels of quality, robustness, durability and ergonomics, but for new applications such as tapping and reaming.”

“At Chicago Pneumatic we are dedicated in developing our range so that we can offer a full one-stop- shop for our customers with tools to suit all their needs, and our equipment portfolio includes grinders, sanders, screwdrivers, drills, impact wrenches, hammers as well as hydraulic tightening solutions, along with related accessories.”
