Penn United Technologies, Inc. of Cabot, Pennsylvania acquired Quala-Die, Inc. of St. Marys, Pennsylvania on October 1, 2016.
Founded in 1971, Penn United is an employee-owned company headquartered in Cabot, PA, and employs approximately 500 employees. The complete range of manufacturing services offered by Penn United allows customers to simplify their supply chain logistics by using Penn United’s “one-stop shop” manufacturing services. Among the services offered by Penn United are tool and die making, metal stamping, carbide and metal assembly, prototyping, precision machining, precision grinding, reel to reel plating, metal finishing services, steel and carbide progressive stamping dies, and Parker Majestic Grinders.
Quala-Die, Inc. was founded in 1978 and is headquartered in St. Marys. Quala-Die employs approximately 95 employees at its St. Marys facility. Quala-Die specializes in the design and manufacturing of tool and die sets for “net shape” or “near-net shape” precision powdered metal and ceramic components.

Penn United will maintain the Quala-Die operations at the St. Marys facility and will focus on supporting Quala-Die’s business with their existing customers. Penn United will also look to leverage the combined capabilities of Quala-Die, and their existing precision tooling group, within Penn United’s current customer base and focus markets.
