INNOVATIVE LEAD PRODUCT BY SAWING AND MILLING TECHNOLOGY

The new MFL slab milling machine combines power and precision. This new development has already convinced experts in action and is thus the technologically leading machine in the field steel slab machining. Due to numerous technical advantages and an attractive return on investment this machine has come to the attention of the industry.

High-quality Final Product

The milling machine is designed for perfect horizontal and vertical machining of steel and aluminium slabs in one process. Instead of using common machining techniques like grinding or flame scarfing the surface is milled. The condition of the slab is not only preserved 1:1 but its quality is even improved as there is no subsequent heat input into the slab. Another advantage of maintaining material quality lies in the fact that milling is a residue-free processing procedure. Any defects or fissures/cracks in the slab are visible at once and can be repaired/corrected immediately by the teach-in function. Thus, users are saved later complaints and consequential costs caused by defective material. Just like all milling machines made by MFL this slab milling machine convinces due to minimum chip removal. This is assured by highly precise 3-D measuring in advance and a fully-automated copy milling function.

Top Environmental Care

This new slab milling machine also meets the high demands of MFL on eco-friendly processes and machining plants in comparison to commonly-used technologies. No emissions, clean chips and lower energy consumption than that caused by grinding and flame scarfing make slab milling an eco-friendly operation. Additionally, this is an especially low-noise development made by MFL.

Giant Heavy-duty Machining

This milling plant newly developed by MFL for heavy-duty machining can machine slabs up to a length of 12m (+) and a width of 2.6 m (up to 4 m upon request). Due to the MFL milling concept the slabs can be machined on all sides and fully-automatically by two or more milling heads. The machine is equipped with an automatic tool-changing device and has an option for lateral machining. The chips are discharged fully-automatically and sorted exactly by means of "chip management". Depending on the client's requirements the highly efficient MFL plant is equipped with feed and discharge, marking, weighing unit etc. Integrating the machine into existing systems and processes is no problem at all.
