OWL’S BREW TO SHOWCASE CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED COCKTAIL MIXERS AT 2015 EXPO EAST SHOW

Two new flavors to make their debut at Expo East

New York, NY (September 14, 2015) --- Owl’s Brew, the first-ever tea crafted for cocktails, will showcase their critically acclaimed tea-based cocktail mixers at this year’s Expo East (booth 857), on September 16-19, 2015. Earlier this summer, Owl’s Brew launched their fourth flavor, White and Vine, which blends delicate white tea with all-natural watermelon, pomegranate, and lemon peel, for a tart and refreshing taste. White and Vine went on to win “Best Cold Beverage” at this year’s Summer Fancy Food Show.

The brand has continued to steadily grow its line of premium tea blends. To celebrate the return of whisky season, Owl’s Brew has partnered with The Famous Grouse, Scotland’s #1 Scotch and one of the best-selling whiskies in the world to create two custom flavors. The Famous Mint Tea, a cooling blend of peppermint tea with a hint of lemon is designed to pair with The Famous Grouse. The Smoky Earl which features a robust blend of smoky lapsang souchong and Earl Grey tea with a touch of honey is the perfect accompaniment to The Black Grouse, The Famous Grouse’s smokier cousin. These flavors will be making their official debut at Expo East and will be available starting in October.

Both blends can be enjoyed either over ice or warmed up for a toddy style drink. “We’ve always loved toddies and are thrilled to be heading into fall and winter with two new toddy-inspired offerings,” said Jennie Ripps, Founder and CEO of Owl’s Brew. “We couldn’t be more excited to show off both blend’s versatility at this year’s Expo East.”

Over the past two years, Owl’s Brew’s on- and off-premise presence has been accelerating through both liquor and broad-line foodservice distribution. The brand is currently available at leading national retailers including BevMo!, Total Wine, Whole Foods, The Fresh Market, FreshDirect, Williams-Sonoma, and West Elm. Wegman’s and Wakefern are two new accounts that have signed on to bring Owl’s Brew SKUs into their inventory.

Owl’s Brew will be celebrating its second anniversary in October and have blazed new trails by introducing the first ever tea-based cocktail mixers since launching. Owl’s Brew was featured in The New York Times Small Business section earlier this summer, cementing their place within the craft cocktail market. The brand was also featured on the cover of the February 2015 edition of BevNet Magazine, headlining the story “Generation Mix,” profiling the trend towards more premium, sophisticated, smaller batch mixers. Unlike traditional mixers, Owl's Brew’s light flavor profile allows it to complement a wide range of spirits, and each of its flavors can be combined with multiple liquors, such as vodka, bourbon, tequila or even beer. The tea is fresh-brewed in micro-batches.

Owl’s Brew’s three original flavors are Coco-Lada, sweet with a spicy kick, rounded out by coconut and sweetened with natural agave; Pink & Black, a robust darjeeling, with a hint of hibiscus, sweetened with agave; and The Classic, English breakfast with a tart twist, sweetened with agave, with each serving 20 - 40 calories.
