Successful launch of the high speed gearboxes REINTJES developed new rotor turning device

With a total output of over 19.000 kW REINTJES first turbine gears were put into operation. After decades-long successful manufacture of wheel sets for compressor gearboxes, the propulsion specialist decided to expand its wide ranged product portfolio by the high speed gearboxes (RTG) in year 2013.

Frank Buchmann, vice president sales division is pleased: "Our customers are very satisfied after the first commissioning have taken place successfully. Primarily our high quality standards are convincing, which are reflected in our main gearboxes as well as in the associated auxiliary units." REINTJES developed a new rotor turning device which is of vital importance for the start and cooling process. "Particularly with regard to the vibration behavior we are at an advantage to our competitors." With regard to the efficiency, the noise characteristics and the vibration behavior of the main gearboxes, REINTJES is on a high level due to careful predevelopment as well as high manufacturing quality.

One of, in total six RTG references, contributes to the production of

environmental compatible packaging paper in France. The RTG 630 transfers the power of a MAN MARC-2 steam turbine to a generator with a gear ratio of 6,636:1 and a rated output of 7.635 kW. Furthermore high speed gearboxes of the series 500, 710 and 800 have been delivered successfully.

The RTG range covers the whole portfolio for powertrains of gas and steam turbines up to 40 MW. This also includes the input and output coupling as well as the attached oil pumps which provides the whole installation with oil. Therefore REINTJES cooperates closely with competent and experienced partners. "The future focus is to further develop the market and to cover higher power ranges, too", as per Frank Buchmann finally. To process upcoming projects in the industrial sector optimally, REINTJES completes a production hall for the manufacturing and testing of the high speed gearboxes this year. The test bench performance will amount up to 1,5 MW.
