SCHOELLER BRAND PARTNERS SHOWCASE PERFORMANCE OF PFC-FREE ECOREPEL BIO AND 3XDRY BIO PROTECTION

Schoeller Textil AG, the global textile manufacturer celebrating 150 years and continued dedication to innovating technical fabrics and finishing technologies, announces the expansion of consumer product applications for its PFC-free technology finishes ecorepel® Bio and 3XDRY® Bio.  Based on renewable primary products while delivering state-of-the-art weather protection and moisture management performance, eco-conscious brands that are utilizing Schoeller’s ecorepel® Bio and 3XDRY® Bio include Aztech Mountain, Dakine, Mammut, Tilley and Theory.

Schoeller ecorepel® Bio is currently featured in Aztech Mountain’s Castle Creek Cargo Pant and Express Creek Hybrid Short and will launch with Dakine’s new Thrillium Short and Pants for S19.  Mammut will feature ecorepel® Bio in its new Courmayeur SO Pant and will continue to utilize the technology in its successful Eiger Extreme Line with the Eisfeld Light SO Hoody and pant, as well as the Eisfeld Advanced Pant.  Schoeller 3XDRY® Bio will be introduced in Tilley’s new Polaris Hat, as part of its Marine Specialty Capsule collection, as well as in Theory’s versatile Neoteric Pant for men for S19.

“Designing with Schoeller’s ecorepel® Bio fabrics allowed us to align Dakine’s product sustainability efforts with the performance expectations of our most core customers,” said Nate Kuder, Dakine Bike Sr. Product Line Manager.  “We were incredibly impressed with the look, feel and performance of ecorepel® Bio during our entire development and field testing. This material will help drive our brand forward with new and existing customers.”

While both technologies are bio-based and PFC (perfluorocarbon)-free, 3XDRY® Bio ensures reliable repellence of water droplets and aqueous dirt on the outer side, and optimum moisture management on the inside. 3XDRY® Bio also supports the body’s own natural cooling function thanks to evaporation close to the skin. Mimicking the protective plant cuticle that repels morning dew and heavy rains, the ecorepel® Bio finish envelopes the fibers of the fabric in a thin film, providing a permanently odorless, repellent effect the makes water and aqueous dirt run off the surface.
