As incredible as it may seem, the little company from Cornish, New Hampshire that bears the name J.R.LIGGETT LTD., is still run by a person named James R. Liggett. He is the president, founder, and maker of J.R.LIGGETT’S OLD-FASIONED BAR SHAMPOO®.
Mr. Liggett started the company over 35 years ago. Now J.R.LIGGETT’S Shampoo Bars are sold throughout the US and many foreign countries. His shampoo is distributed in many markets: Natural Foods, Outdoor, Marine, Beauty, Travel, Gift, Ecology, Historical, and General Stores.
Q: WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT YOUR SHAMPOO BARS?
“J.R.LIGGETT’S Shampoo Bars are all made from edible vegetable oils with NO detergents what-so-ever. For this reason many people find relief from allergies, sensitivities or chemical reactions with our shampoo bars. “Well we are currently developing an entire line of Pet Shampoos, both in bar form as well as in a liquid.
Our Fergie Dog Shampoo has been very popular and will now expand on it with a goal of getting a firm footing in the Pet Industry. This new line will also be introduced into all of the other markets we sell in.”
Q: Now… what do you enjoy most about having a successful, expanding company?
“I think it is the validation that you can make a healthy and environmentally correct products that are both earth friendly and people friendly. Fact: you can wash your hair in a lake and the fish could eat the bubbles. Or if you lost a bar of our shampoo along the trail a racoon would come up and eat it. “
