RESTUBE | for more confidence in water

RESTUBE - more freedom & water safety

While skiing, we wear a helmet; in the car, we wear a seatbelt and when we are enjoying powder lines in the snow, we carry an avalanche backpack. At the water, there is RESTUBE to enjoy yourself even more.
No matter if there is a strong current, you are having cramps, your equipment is broken or just for a nice feeling: RESTUBE can ease many situations. Even when you are carrying it with you at the water, you will feel much freer and will be able to enjoy the moment even better. One pull on the trigger will inflate your yellow RESTUBE buoy and gives you time. In the small carrier bag, RESTUBE is small enough that you will completely forget about it. You will feel freer, train harder and be able to concentrate on what makes us go into the water in the first place: We want to have a good time. Surfers, swimmers, families, anglers, rowers, sailors or on a cruise. It is what unites us as well as the water.
RESTUBE IS YOUR INFLATABLE BACKUP IN THE WATER.
The small and strong RESTUBE is always at hand. When you are in or at the water, simply carry it around your waist or buckle it to your harness. If necessary, pull on the trigger and the 75N floatation panel inflates. Now you have time. Perfect for the use on a lake or in the ocean. Easily reusable by replacing the gas cartridge. The original 16g CO2 cartridges do not corrode and will function 100% of the time. The standardised cartridge cap is tested to work with our trigger in every condition perfectly.
DEVELOPED IN GERMANY
Every detail of RESTUBE is developed in Germany. Together with research facilities, our riders from various water sports and professional rescuers, we constantly develop the RESTUBE technology further for their specific areas of application.

ABOUT CHRISTOPHER FUHRHOP, FOUNDER AND CEO OF RESTUBE
The idea of RESTUBE was born, when Christopher Fuhrhop experienced a critical situation while kitesurfing in waves at the Atlantic coast of France. He swam what felt like an eternity with broken material back to shore. During this time he wished for some buoyancy to use his power more efficiently. As a soon to be engineer, he set himself the target of developing an inflatable system that was small and tough enough to be carried at all times. The RESTUBE-Idea was born. During his engineering studies at university he created the first prototypes, the EXIST-Founder-Scholarship of the Ministry of Economics and Energy enabled the first steps in regards of reaching the final production status. In 2012 RESTUBE sold its first units to kite surfers. Soon it became clear that RESTUBE is suitable for all kind of activities around water. Whether it is for swimmers, surfers, paddlers or even professional lifeguards. With that in mind, four versions of the original Restube were developed to match perfectly their respective target groups.

THE RESTUBE GmbH
The RESTUBE GmbH was founded in summer 2012 and was developed within the Karlsruher Institute of Technology (KIT) as part of two theses by Christopher Fuhrhop and Co-founder Marius Kunkis. Meanwhile RESTUBE is available in over 20 countries and 500 shops.
Partners like the Swiss Lifeguards (SLRG) and famous sportspersons, like Sonni and Janni Höhnscheid, support the RESTUBE-Idea since the beginning. RESTUBE was Safety Partner at over 40 watersport events in 2016 and enables with that over ten thousand participants even safer events.

RESTUBE was awarded multiple times in the last years. In 2015 RESTUBE was awarded with the German Founder Award in the category “StartUp” and the ISPO GOLD AWARD. In 2016, RESTUBE won the “German Accelerator”, a program which supports young companies like RESTUBE with their expansion to the U.S.A.
Since the founding of RESTUBE in 2012, the company sold already over 60.000 products and saved over 20 lives.
