WRS Materials (Wafer Holding), a leading provider of specialty silicon and silicon services, today announced that they have acquired Pure Wafer Inc., a top tier silicon reclaim company, to become the largest US based supplier of reclaim, test and specialty silicon.
The purchase of Pure Wafer Inc., based in Prescott, AZ, further increases WRS Material’s share in the secondary silicon market. “The combination of Pure Wafer's high quality reclaim products with our broad specialty silicon and services offerings will provide our clients with a complete product menu,” said Richard Mee, president of WRS Materials. “The acquisition is also expected to result in greater efficiencies and significantly increase our market share,” added Mr. Mee.

WRS materials will use Pure Wafer’s existing Prescott Facility to provide low particle test and reclaim wafers to its customers. WRS is in the process of working with the very experienced management team at Pure's Prescott plant to build a seamless integration plan. “The integration of the companies will take place over the next 6 to 12 months. Clients of both companies should expect the same level of excellent customer service and quality products that they have always counted on." said Mr. Mee.
Pure Wafer Inc., which will continue to operate under that name, will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Wafer Holding.
Under the terms of the agreement, WRS Materials has agreed to Purchase the stock of Pure Wafer Inc., which includes the Prescott, AZ manufacturing facility.
