This workshop will provide an overview of some of the basic battery chemistries being used by OEMs today. Learn the differences between lithium-ion, nickel-metal hydride, ion-phosphate, lithium-oxygen, sodium-ion, and other advanced battery technologies. In addition to performance, weight, and affordability, learn more about important beginning and end-of-life issues (i.e. sourcing and recycling) when it comes to selecting compounds such cobalt, lithium, graphite, and other/or materials. Other key topics will include current research and expected advancements in battery technologies, national and global market trends, production capabilities and the emergence of mega factories, safety considerations, and other cutting-edge issues.
